Curriculum of GS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Curriculum Aims<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/strong> The GS curriculum aims to enable students to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n – maintain healthy personal development and become confident, rational and responsible citizens;<\/p>\n\n\n\n – recognize their roles and responsibilities as members of the family and society and show concern for the common good;<\/p>\n\n\n\n – develop a sense of national identity and be committed to contributing to the nation and the world;<\/p>\n\n\n\n – develop curiosity and interest in the natural world and technological world as well as understand the impact of science and technology on society;<\/p>\n\n\n\n – develop care and concern for the environment and practice green living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Learning Targets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Students are expected to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n – understand their growth and development, develop a healthy lifestyle and respect for themselves and others, and attach importance to harmonious interpersonal relationships;<\/p>\n\n\n\n – understand the development and changes of the community, and appreciate and respect multiculturalism of Hong Kong;<\/p>\n\n\n\n – develop care and concern for the well-being of their families, the community of Hong Kong, the nation and the world, and as a result understand their roles and responsibilities in their families, society and country, respect the rule of law and contribute for the common good;<\/p>\n\n\n\n – develop interest in exploring the scientific world and technological world, be able to integrate and apply science and technology knowledge and skills to solve everyday problems;<\/p>\n\n\n\n – understand the impact of science and technology on human society and the environment, and practise green living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are six strands in the GS curriculum, which provide students with diversified learning experiences that lay a solid foundation for their learning. Life-wide Learning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Life-wide learning provides students with the opportunities to learn in authentic contexts. Diversified life-wide learning activities are organized to deepen students\u2019 learning as well as develop in them positive values and attitudes, through observation, experimental learning, sharing and reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n
